About
Hi, I’m Isabel.
I work in cybersecurity, I study for a lot of certifications, and I write down what I learn so it is useful to somebody other than me.
What I do
I am a Lead Information Security Engineer at Lastwall, working on identity and post-quantum security. I joined as a Cloud Security Analyst, and most of what I know I learned by doing it badly first.
Along the way I have picked up a few certifications — AWS Security – Specialty, GIAC GCIH, GIAC GSTRT, CompTIA CySA+ and Security+ among them. Every one of them has a study guide on this site, written from the notes I actually used.
I have also been asked to comment on cybersecurity careers, diversity in the field and post-quantum readiness by Security Magazine, Silicon Republic, Cyber Daily and the Techday network.
This site exists because of a gap I kept hitting while studying. There is plenty of material explaining what a technique is. There is very little showing somebody actually doing it and being honest about the parts that did not work.
So that is what I write.
How I work
I ran the commands
If a command is on this site, I typed it. Output is real output. Nothing gets reconstructed from memory afterwards.
No spoilers on live challenges
Retired boxes get written up in full. Anything still live on a platform gets the method and none of the answers — I am not taking that away from anyone.
Always free
No paywall, no account, no email gate. Cost should never be the reason somebody cannot start in this field.
Say hello!
Questions, requests, corrections, or you are studying for the same cert — I would like to hear from you.
